Is Managed Hosting For You?

We recommend Managed Hosting for all websites that interact with third party services. This is because third party services tend to frequently update their systems, software and processes which in turn often require updates to your website.

Some examples of third parties, for a typical holiday home website, are:

  • Stripe. If they manage payments from your guests.
  • Government. Payment processing legislation changes have affected the behaviour of your booking system.
  • Airbnb/VRBO who sync bookings to and from your website’s calendar

If you are comfortable maintaining your website yourself and fixing problems should they occur then Self Managed Hosting may be suitable for you but we wouldn’t recommend it if your website relies upon your booking system and payment functionality.
