Photos can make or break (quite literally sometimes) a website so it is important to give them the respect they deserve
Adding Photos
All photos uploaded to your website should have been done by someone with a modicum of website expertise. Images should be optimised, resized and given SEO friendly tags before display. Their orientation should be considered also and may need to be refactored depending on the device they are being viewed on landscape works well on monitors, portrait, on phones.
Choosing Photos
Photos should also be carefully selected. Common mistakes are:
- Multiple images that show the same room from ever so slightly different angles should be avoided
- Creased bed linen
- Grey skies
- Absence of any local area images
Important: every photo should have merit as an appealing Sales photo. Don’t take close up photos of white goods in utility rooms for example. if the type of washing machine is important it is best to describe it instead.
