If there is one thing us as Holiday Home Owners do extremely badly at, it is self promotion. If we have a week in our calendar that is waiting to be filled then what we do is… we wait for it to be filled.
Very rarely, if at all, do we discount our pricing, throw a banner up on the website or push out a social media message to get a late booking in. Nor do we maintain a list of our previous guests that we could fire off an email to and incentivise a booking spree.
Changing Our Behaviour
No other business works this way – we are unique, which means we must either being doing something right, or….we’re too busy.
I know this because many of my customers contact me once a year asking me to update their annual pricing. This means they are either uber-successful at filling their calendars or they don’t adjust their pricing to reflect demand.
We’re making things easier – in 2024 your website’s booking system rolled out several new features including the ability to apply default and priority pricing. This makes it very straightforward to apply a base rate to your price bands and a special discounted rate that you can selectively toggle on and off at short notice should you need to.
Free Training and Support
To encourage Owners to get the best out of their website and boost their 2025 bookings, I have decided to offer, free-of-charge, to all Owners on our Managed Hosting Plan a 30 minute refresher training session where they can ask me anything. If you are on our Self-Hosted Plan you can also take advantage of the free session by upgrading your plan which will at the same time update your Booking System to its most recent version.
