Writing a Blog for a Holiday Cottage Website

If your Holiday Home website has been setup with a ‘News’ page this will enable you to post updates such as property refurbishment, local events, travel advice or special offers.

A News Item, or Blog is referred to on your website as a Post. To create a new Post or edit an existing post, from your website Dashboard select ‘Posts’

Typically when you create a new Post it will automatically appear on your News Page at the top of your list (this may differ depending on how your News Page has been setup)

If you didn’t require a blog at the time your website was developed but would like to set one up just ask us and for a small charge we will setup a news summary page and individual blog pages for you as well as updating your menus/navigation links to accommodate this

Writing a New Post

When you create a new Post you should be giving it:

  1. A Title
  2. The main body of content (text and photos)
  3. A Cover Photo

You can type this directly into your Post or you can copy and paste the content if you already have this typed out elsewhere.

When You have finished creating your post don’t forget to click the ‘Publish’ button to make it live on your site

 

TIP:

Your Featured Image should ideally be Landscape Orientated, not Portrait and a minimum width of 1024 pixels. Much less than that and your image will look grainy when viewed on large screens.
